Faber, Alfred, Hanon, scales and Bach are still in the lesson plan because they work. Generations of teachers and students have built real skill with these methods, and Kevin uses them as the backbone of every piano student’s progress.
If your child loves video games, they will love this part. Kevin’s students use iPads and game-style music apps to learn to play, sing and understand music. Kevin gets weekly progress reports between lessons and can assign practice challenges during the week, so practice time stays fun and on track.
Good technique is what lets a pianist keep improving. Without it, bad habits fill the gap, and bad habits are hard to break. Kevin focuses on technique early so young players build it right the first time. Self-taught adults are welcome too: breaking an old habit is never easy, but it is always worth it.
